Every building has its own story, and my custom ceramic tiles are a unique way of capturing the essence and character of your most cherished places. Whether it’s the home where your family made lifelong memories, a building that holds special meaning to you, or a business location that has been a cornerstone of your journey, I transform these spaces into timeless works of art.

Using a combination of ceramics and printmaking, I bring out the unique details of your home, favourite building, or business —from the texture of the bricks to the distinctive shape of the roofline. My goal is to create a piece that is both visually stunning, and deeply personal.

The Process

It all starts with you. Whether you have a photo or just an idea, share your ideas with me on details you wish to include, and we’ll work together to bring it to life. I’m here to listen to your story and understand the emotional connection you have with the place.

Design and Creation

Once we’ve discussed the details, I’ll begin the design process. I will craft your custom house portrait, using everyday objects like buttons, Lego bricks, and matchsticks to create unique textures and add depth to the piece.

Review and Final Touches

Before completing the piece, I’ll share a preview with you to ensure it perfectly captures your vision. Once you’re happy with the design, I’ll add the final touches, fire it and treat it and prepare it for delivery.

We had a wonderful experience working with Alexandra. We have known her work for many years, and when we had to say goodbye to 3 close friends (suddenly) we contacted Alexandra because she is the one to capture the essence of the houses or buildings and reflects them in a tile. She was always there, very friendly and open for options, and the communication and information about her work process is perfect. At the end we had 3 happy families leaving Wassenaar, with their houses packed with them. Very unique experience working with Alexandra, and looking forward to contact her soon or be part of one of her workshops.

When our office was looking for ideas on gifts for our key partners, Alexandra was one of the first to come to mind as potential creators.
