What kind of ceramics do you specialise in?

I specialise in handmade ceramic art, focusing on relief tile work and personalised house ornaments inspired by Dutch canal houses. My work is designed to bring memories to life and add a unique, artistic touch to your home or office.

Can I buy your ceramic art online?
Yes! My personalised ceramic artwork, including house ornaments and canal house tiles, is available to purchase through my webshop. Feel free to browse, and if you have any special requests, don’t hesitate to contact me!
Do you offer custom ceramic pieces?
Yes, I offer personalised ceramic artwork, including custom names and dates on house hanging ornaments. Each piece is handmade, making it truly one-of-a-kind, though the designs are based on general canal house shapes rather than specific house replicas.
How can I choose an item from the website?
You can select an item on the website and proceed to the payments page, or you can contact me for additional examples of (similar) items in stock. Alternatively you can make an arrangement to visit the studio to select an item.
How will I get my work?
The purchased work can be shipped to your home address at a cost, or you can collect the work at the studio in Voorhout. Alternatively work may be collected from a location in Den Haag.
Is the studio always open?
The studio is accessible only by request. However, I am often in, and evening visits are always an option.
Where else can I see and/or buy the work?
The work is only available at the studio in Voorhout or usually at the Puur Natuur Market every last Saturday of the month in Wassenaar. A small selection of work can be found in the Langstraat33 photography studio in Wassenaar.

Can I attend a workshop if I’ve never worked with clay before?
Absolutely! My workshops are designed for all skill levels, whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience. I provide all the materials and guidance you need to create something special.
I would like to do a workshop. What are my options?
You can let me know by filling out a contact form. There are a number of ‘walk-in’ workshops throughout the year that you may be able to sign on to. Alternatively you can gather a group together and organise a private workshop.
What can I expect from your ceramic workshops?
My workshops are fun, relaxed, and creative! You’ll learn key hand-building techniques like relief imprinting and thumb-pot making. We often create decorative items, such as canal house tiles or seasonal ornaments, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
How can I book a workshop?
You can book directly through my website. Each workshop listing includes price, location, booking options, and the number of places available. Be sure to reserve your spot early, as spaces are limited!
Where are your workshops held?
Most of my workshops take place in my studio in Voorhout, but I also run mobile workshops where I bring the clay experience to your chosen location. Check my website for details on upcoming workshops and events!
Do you offer workshops for groups or corporate events?
Yes! I offer tailored workshops for corporate teambuilding events, private groups, and special occasions. These sessions are a fantastic way to bring people together, encourage mindfulness, and create something meaningful as a team.

I’ve never been a member of an art group before. Is this right for me?
Definitely! The membership is designed for everyone, whether you’re new to ceramics or looking to deepen your skills. It’s a great way to learn at your own pace and receive guidance from me along the way.

I did my first on-line clay workshop with Alex and it was such a fun experience and really boosted my mental health during a tough time. I loved it so much I persuaded my girlfriend (who claims not to have an ‘arty’ bone in her body!) to do another workshop with me a few months later. Well, what a huge success that was! After a few minutes of panic at the beginning when she was presented with a blank piece of clay, she went on to create four fabulous house tiles that Alex turned into hanging ornaments.
