Clay Foundations

The Clay Foundations course will continue on Tuesday 9 June and on 16, 23 and 30 June in the mornings from 9.30–12.00.

In the remaining sessions we’ll explore a range of hand-building techniques, including thumb pots, slab building and coiling. The course is designed to give you both structure and freedom, with guided projects alongside time, space and opportunity to develop your own ideas.

On Tuesday 9 June we will be doing a classic tile making workshop. If you would like to attend this particular part of the course, or if you want to sign up for the remainder of the sessions please get in touch. The course will include making porcelain butter bells, working with transparent glazing or using engobes for refining and decorating pieces. Depending on time, there may also be the opportunity to make small porcelain pieces such as cufflinks, brooches or pendants.

If you’ve been wanting to spend more time with clay and build confidence across different techniques, this course is a lovely way to do that. It’s also a chance to give yourself some creative time to relax and unwind, while making something with your hands. If you’d like to join or if you’d like some more information please let me know.
